Woman injured
in Porter crash
TOWER CITY - Two people suffered severe injuries when the 1996 Plymouth Breeze a borough woman was driving crashed on East Grand Avenue, just east of Terry Street in Porter Township, about 12:10 a.m. June 15.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Shannon Housand, 31, was driving north at a high rate of speed due to a domestic incident between her and her passenger, Jason D. Sadler, 41, also of Tower City.
Housand lost control of the car, traveled into the oncoming lane and then went off the right side of the road where it hit a tree, police said.
Both Housand and Sadler were not wearing seat belts and were taken to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center with major injuries, police said.
Tower City EMS assisted with patient care and police said Housand will receive a citation as a result of the crash.

in 1-car crash
TOWER CITY - An 18-year-old Wiconisco woman suffered minor injuries when the 2004 Kia Sorento she was driving crashed on North Gold Mine Road in Cold Spring Township, Lebanon County, at 10:07 a.m. Tuesday.
State police at Jonestown said Kaila Deitrich was driving north when she lost control of her vehicle on a right curve. The vehicle went off the road and struck an embankment on the right shoulder, traveled across both lanes of traffic and rolled over on its driver's side before coming to a stop, police said.
Police said Deitrich will be cited for driving at an unsafe speed as a result of the crash.
Screen damaged
in incident
WICONISCO - State police at Lykens are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred between midnight and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at 1435 Pottsville St. in Wiconisco Township, Dauphin County.
Police said Robert Gates reported someone damaged a screen on his shed and then fled the area undetected.

on vehicle
WILLIAMSTOWN - A criminal mischief incident that occurred at 211 W. Broad St. in this Dauphin County community between 10 p.m. Sunday and 4 p.m. Tuesday is being investigated by state police at Lykens.
Police said James Smeltz said someone damaged the registration plate on his vehicle and fled the area.

Woman arrested,
charged in theft
TOWER CITY - A 31-year-old Tower City woman was arrested by state police at Lykens and charged in connection with a May 29 burglary at 113 E. Grand Ave.
Police said they filed charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft and criminal mischief against Shannon Housand who must appear before Magisterial District Judge Carol A. Pankake, Tremont.
Police said Housand broke a window on the west side of the building owned by Matthew H. Housand, 33, of Tower City, and broke a PS3 gaming system owned by her ex-boyfriend, Jason D. Sadler, 41, of Tower City, who rents and lives at the home.
Shannon Housand then stole a Sanyo digital camera owned by Matthew Housand along with a camera charger, a memory stick and three packs of cigarettes. The woman also stole a $5 bill owned by Sadler and fled the area, police said.

for dog's bite
WICONISCO - A 72-year-old borough woman was arrested by state police at Lykens and charged with disorderly conduct after an incident at 308 Walnut St. in this Dauphin County community about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said Connie Lou Nelson must answer the charge before Magisterial District Judge Rebecca Margerum, Elizabethville.
Nelson, police said, was unable to keep her dog confined to her property and it bit James S. Nye, Wiconisco, on the arm.
