Man assaulted during break-in
BARNESVILLE - State police at Frackville are investigating a robbery, assault and mischief incident at a farmhouse at 293 Orchard Road in Ryan Township between 3 and 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said two men went to the house owned by Scott Dewire, kicked in a side door and went inside.
The two then removed copper tubing from the basement and several power tools and placed the items on a back porch, police said.
The two were seen by Dewire, who approached their older model red Ford Escort and tried to remove the keys from the ignition.
Police said the men saw Dewire, assaulted him and fled the scene.
The men are both white with one between the ages of 40 and 45, about 6 feet tall and between 180 and 200 pounds with a white beard, police said. The second man was between 20 and 25 years old, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall weighing 150 to 160 pounds.

Man arrested on felony warrant
TAMAQUA - A 48-year-old Tamaqua man was committed to Schuylkill County Prison on a felony warrant after an incident Friday in Tamaqua.
Police said Robert Anguist, 301 1/2 Penn St., was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua, on a felony warrant from Florida and committed to prison unable to post $50,000 straight cash bail.
Police said officers stopped a motorcycle with a Florida license plate driven by Anguist on Mauch Chunk Street, where the man turned off the vehicle and started walking toward the police cruiser and was advised to stop.
Anguist then got back on the motorcycle and drove north on Route 309, passing several vehicles in the opposite lane of travel. About 10 minutes later, police said, they were notified by the Schuylkill County Communications Center that a black motorcycle crashed and a white man fled the area on foot.
Police said Rush Township police Sgt. Duane Frederick spotted Anguist inside a red pickup truck and took him into custody.
Woman faces harassment charge
PORT CARBON - Port Carbon police said Nicole Spotts, 29, of Port Carbon, will receive a summons for harassment after a dispute with a neighbor, Amber Bynon, 31, of Port Carbon, about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Pine Street.
Police said Spotts allegedly threatened her neighbor over a dispute regarding their children.
Spotts will now have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.
2 injured in Hometown crash
HOMETOWN - Rush Township police investigated a crash at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday on Fairview Street.
Police said Emilee Barkus, 19, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 1999 Nissan west on Fairview Street when she tried to pass a tractor-trailer turning onto Zellner Road. The woman's vehicle went off the road and hit a utility pole, causing her to suffer minor injuries.
Barkus and her passenger, Maria Yankus, 19, of Mahanoy City, who suffered minor injuries as well, were both taken to St. Luke's Hospital-Miners Campus, Coaldale, for treatment, police said.
Chimney damaged at fire company
MAR LIN - A criminal mischief incident at Citizens Fire Company, 503 Maple Ave., Norwegian Township, between 11 a.m. June 23 and 7:30 a.m. Monday is being investigated by state police at Schuylkill Haven.
Police said someone dented and broke a metal chimney on the roof of the building and then fled the area.

Bicycle taken in Mechanicsville
MECHANICSVILLE - The theft of a child's bicycle that occurred between 1 and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of East Norwegian Street is being investigated by Port Carbon police.
Police said Alicia Goodson, Mechanicsville, reported that someone stole a purple and white girl's Pacifica 10-speed bicycle and fled the area.
