GOWEN CITY - One person remains hospitalized following a rollover crash Friday at 12:32 a.m. on Route 125 south of Gowen City in East Cameron Township.
A 2001 Chevrolet Tracker, driven by Kory Quercia, 23, of Frackville, was traveling north on Route 125 and making a left-hand curve in the road when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then struck a dirt embankment and rolled over, but then righted itself before coming to a stop approximately 105 feet from the point of impact. The roof and hood of the vehicle were dented.
Quercia and a passenger, Paul G. Laurusevage, 26, of Frackville, were seen being treated on the shoulder of the northbound lane, about 70 feet from where the vehicle stopped.
Quercia was transported to Geisnger Medical Center, Danville, by Trevorton Ambulance, where he was later treated and released. Laurusevage was transported to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital by AREA Services before being flown via Life Flight helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center, where he was listed Friday in fair condition.
Police said that speed was a factor in the crash and that alcohol is also suspected. Quercia will be cited.
Assisting police at the scene were fire police, and personnel from East Cameron Township and Shamokin Rescue 62.
