n Kulpmont: The St. Mother Pauline Healing Heart of Jesus Auxiliary meets at 7 p.m. the second Monday of the month at the St. Pauline Center.

n Lansford: The Navy Club of the United States, USS Carbon County Ship 260, which also covers Coaldale and Tamaqua, meets at 7:30 p.m. the last Monday of the month in the Lansford AMVETS, 201-203 W. Ridge St. The newly formed unit is looking for new members. Officers are Stanley Jaroszewski, commander; Robert Siesputowski, chaplain; Edward Clausius, senior executive officer, and Scott Reinhart, junior executive officer and shipswriter. John Williams is master at arms. The club is open to all active duty, reserve and honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. Dues are $15 a year. n Pine Grove: The revised list of borough officials include Mayor Kimberly Brown-Zerbe, council members include President Larry Dubbs, Vice President Lynne Umbenhauer, Scott Zimmerman, Paul Gantz, Anthony Gurski, Steve Kramer and Tom Fickinger. Judi A. Kassab is secretary/treasurer and attorney Christopher Hobbs is the solicitor. The officer in charge is Thomas J. Trotter IV. David A. Sattizahn is the fire chief, Anthony Gurski is emergency management coordinator and Lewis Moyer is the health officer. Joseph Boulanger, Kraft Code Services, is the building inspector and code enforcement officer. The borough hall, at 1 Snyder Ave., is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The borough's website is www.pinegroveborough.org. Council meetings are held at 6 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month and 7 p.m. the third Thursday in borough hall.

n Pottsville: The New Life Shoppe, 110 S. Centre St., is looking for volunteers and contributions. Needed items include clothing, shoes and handbags. Its hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Proceeds benefit the Care Net Pregnancy Center. n Pottsville: Schuylkill Brewfest, sponsored by the Schuylkill County Visitors Bureau, will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Pottsville Lions Amphitheater, Joulwan Park. A combo ticket with beer-tasting from 2 to 5 p.m. is $30 per person. Pottsville's own Yuengling brand will be featured, according to a bureau flier. The fest will celebrate the art of brewing with beer, bands, tastings and homebrew competition. For more information, call 800-765-7282 or go online to www.schuylkill.org. People must be 21 or older to participate in the fest. IDs will be required.

n Shenandoah: St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, Chestnut and Oak streets, will host "The Great Adventure: A Journey Through the Bible," a course that guides participants through 14 narrative books of the Bible to see and remember the "big picture," according to a release. The class will break down the timeline, history, key people and events of each period as it relates to the entire story. It will help people better understand the Bible, catechism and the participants' place in it. The class will begin Sept. 15. To register or for more information, contact the rectory at 570-462-0809.

n Shenandoah: The Shenandoah Valley Class of 2016 is selling raffle tickets for a Hewlett Packard all-in-one touch-screen personal computer. Tickets are $2 each and three for $5. The drawing will be held Oct. 5 at halftime of the Shenandoah Valley homecoming football game vs. Schuylkill Haven. Tickets are available at the office of the revitalization group Downtown Shenandoah Inc., 116 N. Main St.; Catizone's Barbershop in the Capitol Theater Bulding, North Main Street, or at any Shenandoah Valley sporting event.
