St. Joseph

Michael Joseph Greco graduated summa cum laude from St. Joseph University, Philadelphia, with a bachelor's degree in biology and a minor in environmental chemistry. He was a-warded the Biology Award for achieving the highest cumulative GPA in biology.

Michael was inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Delta Health Professional Honor Society, Alpha Kappa Delta Honor Society, Sigma Xi Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society.

During his tenure at St. Joseph, Michael tutored underclassmen in biology. He was also a member of the American Institute of Biological Sciences, the Sarcoma Foundation of America and a three-year member of the rugby team. He participated in the Sigma Xi Symposium and the GeoKids Links, an organization that helps children acquire an interest in the sciences.

Conducting genetic research and ecophysiology research in plants was part of a summer scholar program done over three summers. His research also led to collaboration with the Kansas State University Department of Biology.

Michael is continuing his education at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was awarded a Merit Scholarship for the current academic year.

A 2008 graduate of Nativity BVM High School, he is a son of Dr. Richard and Janet Greco, Pottsville, and a grandson of Joseph and Anet Thiroway and Mildred Greco, all of Mount Carmel.
