Port Carbon man jailed in incident
PORT CARBON - A 42-year-old Port Carbon man was jailed Sunday after being arrested by state police at Schuylkill Haven for a domestic incident that occurred at 5:40 p.m. at 315 Market St.
Police said Richard L. Dingman Jr., was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Pottsville, on charges of simple assault and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $15,000 bail.
Police said Dingman and Cora L. Franz, 39, also of Port Carbon, became involved in an argument at their home during which Dingman grabbed the woman around her throat and tried to choke her.
Crash probed
in Pottsville
Pottsville police investigated a crash that occurred at Cressona Road and Calvary Street at 3:49 p.m. Friday.
Police said Christine Selinko, 44, of Pottsville, was driving a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan east in the 700 block of Cressona Road, failed to stop at a stop sign at Calvary Street and collided with a 2009 Dodge Calibre driven by Kevin Miller, 57, of Frackville, who was turning left onto Cressona Road from Calvary Street.
Selinko failed to gain control of her van and crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a 2001 Toyota Tacoma driven by Jacob Tyler, 19, of Pine Grove, police said.
A passenger in the Selinko van, who police did not identify, was removed by Pottsville firefighters and EMS and taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
Harassment
charges filed
BARNESVILLE - A 49-year-old Barnesville man is facing charges of harassment by state police at Frackville after an incident at Locust Valley Bar and Grill on Locust Lake Road in Ryan Township at 11 p.m. Sunday.
Police said Donald J. Jones will receive a citation and will have to answer to the charge in district court.
According to police, Jones became involved in a physical altercation with Michael J. Lorady, 47, also of Barnesville, during which he punched Lorady in the face, causing a laceration near his left eye.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police at 570-874-5300. Ryan Township police were not on duty at the time of the incident, police said.

woman charged
TOWER CITY - A 32-year-old borough woman was arrested by state police at Schuylkill Haven and charged with public drunkenness after an incident that occurred at 15 S. Sixth St. between 2:15 and 2:42 a.m. Friday.
Police said Kimberly Ann Angeny will have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge Carol A. Pankake, Tremont.
According to police, Angeny was intoxicated and caused a disturbance in her home that eventually continued outside and onto the street where she disturbed neighbors in the area and also placed herself in danger.
