Thousands stolen
at Auburn home
AUBURN - The theft of more than $20,000 in cash from a borough home between midnight Aug. 3 and 1:40 p.m. Wednesday is being investigated by state police at Schuylkill Haven.
Police said Sally R. Miller, Auburn, reported someone entered her Market Street home through an unlocked door, went upstairs and removed about $22,000 from a locked Sentry lockbox before fleeing.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 570-593-2000 and refer to incident L07-1242904. All information will remain confidential, police said.

LAKE HAUTO - Rush Township police are investigating a recent burglary at 265 Lake Drive.
Police said Wednesday that someone entered the home and stole money and jewelry along with a Ruger stainless steel revolver with wood grips. The thief then fled.

No one injured
in 2-car crash
ELIZABETHVILLE - Two people escaped injury in a two-vehicle crash at 10 a.m. Wednesday on Route 209, just east of East Broad Street in Washington Township.
State police at Lykens said the crash occurred as a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 driven by Judy D. Enders, 69, of Halifax, was stopped in the northbound lane of Route 209 and a 2009 Pontiac G3 driven by Catherine J. Starnowsky, 21, of Tower City, failed to maintain control.
The front end of Starnowsky's vehicle struck the rear of Enders' vehicle, polive said. Life Team EMS was also on the scene but there were no reported injuries.
Starnowsky faces charges in connection with the crash, police said.
