n Hegins: Tri-Valley Lady Dawgs will hold its fourth annual Pink Night on Wednesday. The Tri-Valley Lady Dawgs and the Minersville Lady Miners are joining together in a cooperative PINK game at Bulldog Stadium. The Junior Varsity game begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by Varsity at 7 p.m. In sportsmanship and a fight for a cause, the girls will play a game in honor of all those fighting the battle. All proceeds will benefit local individuals in need. There will be a bake sale, basket auction and shirts for sale.

n Orwigsburg: A support group for dementia and Alzheimer's patients and families meets at 10:30 a.m. the second Saturday of each month at Healthy Habits Natural Market. Anyone wanting more information should call Healthy Habits at 570-366-2620. Susie Touchinsky, an occupational therapist for Genesis Healthcare and co-owner of Healthy Habits, leads the group. The aim is to create an environment where patients with dementia and Alzheimer's can speak with their families and others about tough issues including safety, driving and living situations. n Ringtown: Bingo games are played every Thursday at the Ringtown Area Senior Citizens Center, 104 W. Main St., which is air-conditioned. Seniors spokeswoman Creta M. Lindenmuth said doors open at 5 p.m. and games begin at 6 p.m. There are weekly jackpots as well as other activities. Everyone is welcome.

n Schuylkill Haven: The 13th annual Cow Chip Bingo and "Moo & Brew" is set for 2:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Second Mountain Rod & Gun Club, 156 N. Greenview Road. Moo & Brew tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. For kids 12 and under, the cost is $5 while kids 3 and younger are free. The cost per "deed" is $5 each. Buy four "deeds" and get one free to have five chances to win. The winner will receive $1,500. There will also be four other prizes as follows: $500, $250, $100 and $50. Tickets and deeds are available at all Blue Mountain High School home football games, Boyer's Market, the rod & gun club of by calling 570-498-9138. Proceeds will benefit The Blue Mountain Eagle Foundation.

n Schuylkill Haven: The annual Schuylkill Haven Borough Day is set for 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. It will begin with the Men of St. Ambrose presenting their Bountiful Breakfast. By 9 a.m., activities on Main Street will begin to heat up with vendors offering the latest in art, crafts, baked goods, T-shirts, sweatshirts and woodworks, according to organizers. The event will have food galore and local churches will have hot food and baked goods. Funnel cake and pierogies will also be available. The Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad Co. will offer train rides, three round-trip excursions, at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. through the beautiful countryside. Advance tickets for the popular train excursions are strongly suggested. They are available at Dr. Robert Kempes' and Stine's Pharmacy, both on Main Street in downtown Schuylkill Haven. The cost is $12 for adults, $9 for children 12 and under. Children 2 and under can ride free. Jerusalem Church, Dock Street, will stage its annual Borough Day spaghetti dinner. n Schuylkill Haven: A concert by the Gabriel Chamber Ensemble is scheduled for 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 30 at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 252 Dock St. Everyone is welcome. For tickets or more information, phone 570-943-2558 or go online to www.gabrielensemble.org.

n Shenandoah: The Shenandoah Rotary Club will sponsor a pet inoculation against rabies, administered by Brookside Animal Hospital, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 20 at the Rescue Hook & Ladder Fire Company, Main and Centre Streets. The fee is $10 per shot. Other inoculations will be available for an extra fee. Everyone is welcome. All pets must be leashed and kept under control by owners.
