3 injured in fight outside bar

Three Pottsville residents were the victims of assault Saturday morning outside Goodfellas bar in the city.

Two of the victims were taken to a hospital.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident took place from midnight to 1:20 a.m. at Goodfellas, 876, S. Centre St., North Manheim Township. Several people engaged in a fight outside the bar, police said, but their names were not released.

Injured were Brandon Schaffer, 24, an aggravated assault victim, Daniel Stevenson, 22, a simple assault victim, and Michelle Rohrbach, 23, all of Pottsville. The extent of their injuries was not released, but both Schaffer and Stevenson were taken by ambulance to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.

No further information was available from police Saturday.

Shen Heights man faces charges

SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS - A Shenandoah Heights man was arrested Friday after an argument.

West Mahanoy Township police responded to a domestic violence argument Friday and arrested Robert Arbushites, 30, of 200 Pennsylvania Ave., Shenandoah.

He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua. Police said an argument ensued between Arbushites and Tammy Hickman, 21, also of 200 Pennsylvania Ave., who had suffered recent bruising.

No other information was available from police Saturday.

Items stolen from pole building

BARRY - A Hegins man and two others were the victims of a recent burglary.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the burglary occurred on Orchard Drive in Barry Township between 4:30 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

Someone pried open a garage door to a pole building and stole several batteries, a small cement mixer motor and about 10 feet of copper pipe from a nearby building.

Police said Daniel J. Brennan, 61, of Hamburg, Michael J. Lenick, 63, of Hegins, and John J. Radigan, 75, of Long Island, N.Y., were the victims of the theft.

Police said the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Schuylkill Haven at 570-593-2000.
