Woman charged,

accused of threats

A 31-year-old Pottsville woman was arrested by city police after she allegedly threatened her mother and stepfather with a knife at a home at 417 E. Market St. at 1:11 a.m. Tuesday.

Pottsville police said Jillian Fisher was charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person. She was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Christine E. Hale, Frackville, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail.

Police said officers were called to the home for a report of a domestic assault and learned Fisher aggressively threatened her mother and stepfather with an 8-inch butcher knife before fleeing the scene.

The woman was taken into custody in the area a short time later, police said.

BROCKTON - Two people were charged by state police at Frackville after an incident at a home at 219 Valley St. in this Schuylkill Township community between 8:10 and 8:20 p.m. Sunday.

Police said Edna L. Shay, 50, of Brockton, and Roy R. Kesten, 48, of Pottsville, became involved in an altercation at Shay's home. At some point, Shay hit Kesten in the head, police said.

When police arrived, they said Kesten was outside the home, intoxicated and causing a disturbance.

Police said Shay was charged with harassment and Kesten with public drunkenness as a result of the incident. Both will have to answer to the charges before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.

Haven man OK

in Rt. 61 crash

FRACKVILLE - A 41-year-old Schuylkill Haven man escaped injury when the 2008 Dodge Charger he was driving crashed in the southbound lanes of Route 61, about a mile south of Mall Road in Blythe Township, at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

State police at Frackville said Leroy Long was driving south when he claimed he tried to avoid several deer that were crossing the roadway. The man's car went off the right side of the road and struck a large rock embankment, police said.

Police said Long was not hurt and that no fire or EMS personnel were needed at the scene. Blythe Township police were not on duty at the time of the crash, police said.

3 escape injury

in I-81 collision

MAHANOY CITY - Three people escaped injury when two vehicles collided in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 at mile marker 131 in Mahanoy Township at 5:28 p.m. Sunday, police said.

State police at Frackville said Dawn L. Fudge, 57, of Hazleton, was driving a 2008 Dodge Nitro trying to enter the interstate at the Mahanoy City exit when she failed to yield at a posted stop sign and collided with a northbound 2001 Freightliner truck driven by Jose Mora Polanco, 40, of West Hazleton.

Police said both drivers and a passenger in the Fudge vehicle, Ruth Rigotti, 58, of Hazle Township, all escaped injury. Police said Fudge will receive a citation as a result of the crash.

Shed damaged

WILLIAMSTOWN - State police at Lykens are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred at Williams Valley Dental Group, 111 S. Water St. in this Dauphin County community between 5:30 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Police said someone spray painted a storage shed with the word "Stream" and a triangle symbol.

Police said they are reviewing video surveillance and evidence is being collected. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 717-362-8700.
