Shots fired at
security guard
NEW RINGGOLD - State police at Frackville are investigating an incident of reckless endangerment that occurred about 1:55 a.m. Thursday at EZS Pull along Summer Valley Road in East Brunswick Township.
Police said someone fired three shots at the vehicle of security guard Jeremy Talanca, Berwick, who was on patrol in the area. The person then fled on a four-wheel all-terrain vehicle.

Pair charged
with retail theft
FRACKVILLE - Matthew Bagdonavicius, 19, and Cody Church, 22, both of Frackville, were charged with retail theft following an incident that occurred between midnight and 1:30 a.m. Oct. 6. at Exxon Uni-Mart, 541 Altamont Blvd., West Mahanoy Township.
State police at Frackville said the two were friends of the on-duty clerk.
The clerk allowed them to repeatedly handle the tobacco products behind the sales counter, police said.
The clerk then repeatedly exited the store, leaving Bagdonavicius and Church alone in the store, police said.
Both stole multiple cartons of cigarettes, cigars and other items, stashing it in their clothing, police said.
After an inventory, the store owner determined the items totaled $1,315, police said.
Multiple charges were filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.
Items stolen
from Jeep
State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft from a motor vehicle that occurred between 4 p.m. Wednesday and 6:40 a.m. Thursday in Heritage Heights, Norwegian Township.
Police said someone unzipped the soft top of a green 1995 Jeep Wrangler belonging to Michael Goodwin, 26, of Pottsville, and stole a flashlight and cellphone charger.
The items are valued at $12, police said.

Gas taken from
parked vehicle
WICONISCO - State police at Lykens are investigating a theft on Pottsville Street in Wiconisco Township, Dauphin County, on Wednesday or Thursday.
Police said someone stole about $30 in gas from a parked vehicle owned by a Wiconisco man and then fled the area.

Drivers not hurt
in Route 61 crash
DEER LAKE - Two people escaped injury when their vehicles collided at 12:40 a.m. Thursday on Centre Turnpike, Route 61, just south of Municipal Road in West Brunswick Township.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Steven Rhoades, 22, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am north when he traveled across the turning lane and into the path of a 2005 Freightliner driven by Garane Miraad, 24, of Columbus, Ohio.
Police said both drivers escaped injury and Rhoades will receive several citations as a result of the crash.
Deer Lake-West Brunswick Township firefighters and fire police assisted at the scene, police said.
iPod, change
stolen from car
WILLIAMSTOWN - A theft on West Market Street in this Dauphin County community sometime Wednesday or Thursday is being investigated by state police at Lykens.
Police said a Williamstown man reported someone entered his parked vehicle and stole an iPod and about $10 in loose change before fleeing the area.
