n Mahanoy City: The Visiting Nurse Association board has announced that Thomas Ward is again the chairman of the VNA's annual drive, which began Oct. 1. Donations may be sent to Sally Irvin, P.O. n Ringtown: The Ringtown Area Library is hosting a free preschool storytime at 11:15 a.m. Mondays through Nov. 12. It will also have an additional program with a holiday theme on Nov. 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All local families with preschoolers ages 3 to 5 are invited to socialize with other children and to gain essential pre-reading skills, according to a library press release. n Schuylkill Haven: St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church will present its 34th annual Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the St. Ambrose Parish Center, 302 Randel St. The event will include homemade crafts, a chance stand, food, hand-crafted ornaments, homemade soups and a bake sale. Patrons will be able to take chances on a handmade fabric yo-yo throw/cable cover, a hand crocheted flower garden afghan and a handmade lap quilt/wall hanging. Everyone is welcome.
n Shenandoah: Schuylkill County Knights of Columbus councils from Pottsville, Mahanoy City, Shenandoah, Frackville, Saint Clair and Tamaqua will deliver turkey dinners complete with turkey, filling, yams, gravy, vegetable, cranberry sauce, bread, dessert and drink to all county residents in need of a meal for Thanksgiving Day. People in need of a meal, or who know of someone in need of a meal, are asked to call 570-292-2964, 570-773-0627 or 570-292-2963 and leave name, address (including apartment number), town, phone number and number of meals needed plus any other information important for the caller or the person for whom the call is being made.
