Jewelry stolen
from residence
HAMBURG - State police at Hamburg are investigating the theft of about $1,000 worth of jewelry from a residence last week in Greenwich Township, Berks County.
Police said the theft occurred at 217 Rhoedes Road between 8:45 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday and that there was no forced entry. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 610-562-6885.
Jonestown boy
not hurt in crash
PINE GROVE - A 17-year-old Jonestown boy escaped injury when his vehicle left the road and hit several mailboxes at 6:15 a.m. Sunday on Route 443, 49 feet west of Short Lane in Pine Grove Township, police said.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said the boy was driving a 1992 Saturn west on Route 443 and left the road while traveling a left curve in the road. Police said the car hit a culvert before striking several mailboxes and that the car had to be towed from the scene.
Police said the juvenile was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was charged in the accident.Man charged

ELIZABETHVILLE - An Elizabethville man was charged with harassment stemming from an incident that occurred Wednesday evening in Washington Township, Dauphin County, police said.
State police at Lykens said Keith Allen Ramer Jr., 21, grabbed a woman's arm and ripped mail from her hands at 10:52 p.m. at 154 Longabach Drive.
Charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Rebecca E. Margerum, police said.

faces DUI charge
LYKENS - A Lykens man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop Saturday morning at Route 209 and Meadow Lane in Upper Paxton Township, Dauphin County, police said.
State police at Lykens said John Peter Sheridan, 52, was found to be under the influence during a traffic stop at 2:55 a.m. Saturday.
Charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Rebecca E. Margerum, Elizabethville.
