PORT CARBON - A 46-year-old Middleport man charged with sexually assaulting a woman at his home on Aug. 16 waived his right to a preliminary hearing on four of six charges against him before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko.
Joseph R. Angst, 21 Main St., was arrested by Trooper Thomas Powell of the Frackville station and charged with one count each of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, simple assault, indecent assault and harassment.
Prosecutors withdrew the charges of rape and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and Angst waived the remaining offenses to Schuylkill County Court.
Powell said a woman was helping Angst clean his home because he was being evicted and that when she told the man she wanted to leave he wanted to have sex. Powell said Angst forced the woman into a bedroom and made her perform oral sex on him.
