FRACKVILLE - A 27-year-old Ashland man charged with stealing $100 from a woman on July 7 in West Mahanoy Township had a charge against him held to court during a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Christina E. Hale.
Jason J. Pryce, 215 Germanville Road, was arrested by state police Trooper Michael Breznik of the Frackville station and charged with one count of theft by deception. By waiving his right to a hearing Pryce will have to answer to the charge in Schuylkill County Court.
Breznik said Pryce asked Charise Matalavage for change for a $100 bill in the unit block of East Oak Street and was given four $2 and one $10 bill. In exchange Pryce handed the woman a fake $1 million bill.
Matalavage said she told Pryce to give her back her money but he refused, Breznik said.
