Gilberton woman arrested

GILBERTON - A 47-year-old Gilberton woman was jailed after an assault that occurred at 6 Chapel Lane about 9:55 p.m. Friday.

State police at Frackville said Connie Delowery was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Carol A. Pankake, Tremont, on charges of simple assault and harassment and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post 10-percent of $20,000 bail.

Police also said that Delowery allegedly hit John Blashock, 43, of Gilberton, in the face, causing visible injuries.

In addition to Delowery, police said Blashock will be cited for harassment and simple trespass for instigating the incident.

Both will have to answer the charges before Magisterial District Judge Christine Hale, Frackville, police said.

Boy injured in SUV crash

AUBURN - A 17-year-old Mohnton boy was injured when the 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee he was driving crashed on Route 895, just south of Church Lane in West Brunswick Township, at 3:10 a.m. Monday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the teen was driving west when he fell asleep causing the SUV to go off the road, traveling about 150 feet and hit a signpost and sign owned by Halabura Farms.

The SUV continued west for about 180 feet before hitting a group of small trees and coming to a stop, police said.

Hubcaps stolen from vehicle

TREMONT - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft from a vehicle that occurred at the Tremont Nursing Home between 11 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday.

Police said Cindy Zimmerman, Pine Grove, reported someone stole two hubcaps from the passenger's side of her 2007 Toyota Corolla.
