Women charged
by police
MILLERSBURG - Dawn M. Kissinger, 39, of Hegins, and Paula D. Ressler, 42, of Williamstown, were charged with writing bad checks in incidents that occurred May 17, 2011, and May 18, 2012, at Special Moments Bridal Boutique, 321 Market St.
State police at Lykens said that Kissinger submitted a check in the amount of $80 for payment at the boutique, while Ressler submitted a check in the amount of $112.50 for payment at the boutique.
Charges against both were filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Rebecca J. Margerum, Elizabethville.
Frackville man
faces charges
FRACKVILLE - West Mahanoy Township police investigated a harassment incident that occurred at 6:40 p.m. Oct. 27 at Oak and Wylam streets in the Altamont section of Frackville.
Police said Eric Klemow, Frackville, was exiting his vehicle when he was approached by Michael Jessman, Frackville.
Jessman began fighting with Klemow, police said.
Klemow suffered minor bruising in the altercation, police said.
Jessman faces charges filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Christina E. Hale, Frackville.
Tree stand
taken from woods
MUIR - State police at Schuylkill Haven at investigating the theft of a tree stand that occurred between Oct. 27 and Friday from a wooded area in Porter Township.
Police said someone removed a two-person 15 foot ladder tree stand located in a wooded area near Muir that belonged to William Dauberman, 49, of Muir.
The suspect cut a chain that had the tree stand locked to a tree, police said.
The value of the tree stand is $99, police said.

stolen diesel
SAINT CLAIR - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating theft at a construction site that occurred between 8 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday at Eagle Hill Road and Caroline Avenue in East Norwegian Township.
Police said someone removed about 100 gallons of diesel fuel from a Caterpillar 320C Excavator that belonged to Berner Construction, Gap.

Gordon man
charged by police
LYKENS - Cody Lee Harris, 21, of Gordon, was charged with possessing prohibited weapons following an incident that occurred at 12:29 a.m. Thursday at Specktown Road and Old Specktown Road in Lykens Township.
State police at Lykens said Harris was stopped for numerous traffic violations, including driving without lights to avoid apprehension.
During the stop, police discovered Harris was in possession of brass knuckles, police said.
Charges were filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Rebecca J. Margerum, Elizabethville.
Woman faces
trespassing charges
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Melissa Blickley, 37, of Pottsville, faces trespassing charges, following an incident at 5:45 p.m. Friday at 967 Schuylkill Mountain Road, South Manheim Township.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred as Blickley arrived at the residence of Nicole Davis, 24, of Schuylkill Haven, for child custody reasons and caused a disturbance.
Blickley was informed on multiple occasions that she was not permitted on the property due to past problems, police said.
Blickley was still on the scene when police arrived, police said.
Charges will be filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier, Orwigsburg.

restaurant scam
DEER LAKE - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a quick change scam that occurred at 6:30 p.m. Friday at It's Just Barbecue, 320 Beech Road.
Police said that someone arrived at the business and purchased a sandwich for $6.23.
While getting his change back, he started a conversation with the owner, then produced five $1 bills in his hands and told the owner he paid with a $50 bill and received two $1 bills for change instead of two $20 bills, police said.
The owner made the exchange for the suspect, police said.
He then found that he did originally give the suspect correct change when the register was short $38 at the time of close, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.

stolen ATVs
HAMBURG - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of two ATVs that occurred between Oct 11, 2011, and Aug. 21 at 104 Creamery Road in Tilden Township.
Police said that someone forcefully entered a shed owned by Sue Shobe, 60, of Hamburg, by breaking a pad lock.
The suspect then removed a 1987 Suzuki LT250R ATV that is black plastic with a purple frame and yellow seat and a 2003 Suzuki LT2400 ATV that is white plastic with a silver frame and white seat, police said.
The ATVs belong to Jeremy Shobe, 32, and Shannon Shobe, 32, both of Tamaqua, police said.
