Door damaged

during dispute

WILLIAMSTOWN - State police at Lykens are investigating an incident that occurred at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at 100 East Market St., Apt. 3.

Police said an individual who goes by the name "Angel" got into an argument with Wyatt Daniel Scheiber, 32, of Williamstown. Upon leaving the apartment, the suspect hit the apartment door with enough force to damage it, police said.

Replacement of the door will cost $150, police said.

The suspect's full identity has not yet been obtained, police said.

2 escape injury

in collision

SHENANDOAH - Two Shenandoah men escaped injury in a two-vehicle crash at 5:45 p.m. Friday on Schuylkill Avenue.

West Mahanoy Township police said Richard Dinofa, 268 Indiana Ave., Shenandoah, was driving a 2008 Mazda and was stopped at a stop sign on Norton Way and then turned left to travel on Schuylkill Avenue. Upon doing so, police said Dinofa traveled into the path of a 1998 Ford driven by John Carduff, 23 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, and the vehicles collided.

There were no injuries and both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.

Shenandoah police, Shenandoah Heights Fire Company and Shenandoah EMS assisted at the scene.

Burglary probed

in Gilberton

GILBERTON - State police at Frackville are investigating a burglary that occurred between 2 and 11 p.m. Saturday at 114 Growler St.

Police said someone entered the home of Antoinette Smith and removed several items.

Woman not hurt

in Blythe crash

NEW PHILADELPHIA - A New Philadelphia woman escaped injury after striking a deer at 7:45 a.m. Sunday on Ferndale Road near Mountain Road in Blythe Township, police said.

State police at Frackville said that Jennifer C. Minrod, 31, of New Philadelphia, driving a 2003 Jeep Liberty, was traveling east on Ferndale Road in the right lane when a deer jumped out into the travel lane. Police said the vehicle struck the deer with its passenger side front bumper and grille, and Minrod pulled the vehicle to the shoulder.

The vehicle sustained minor front-end damage and was leaking coolant, police said, noting that Minrod was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Incident in store

brings charges

SAINT CLAIR - Borough police charged a 25-year-old Pottsville man with disorderly conduct after a domestic incident at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Oct. 23.

Police said officers were called to the store and found William E. Kane exiting a vehicle in an aggressive manner. Officers tried to speak with Kane but he would not comply and was placed under arrest but resisted and had to be subdued with a Taser weapon.

Video surveillance, as well as information from witnesses, led to the charge being filed against Kane, police said.

Adults, juvenile

charged in theft

SAINT CLAIR - Three adults and a juvenile were charged by Saint Clair police with retail theft and conspiracy after an incident at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Oct. 18.

Police said Tracey Acker, 45, Michael R. Harwick Sr., 40, and, Jessica Lynn Acker, 20, all of Saint Clair, and a juvenile will have to answer to the charges before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.

Police said the four allegedly filled two large tote bags with items valued at $896.66 and tried to exit the store without paying, passing all check out registers that were in operation.

Woman accused

in phone damage

SAINT CLAIR - Borough police charged Janeen M. Phelan, 30, of Pottsville, with criminal mischief after an incident on Oct. 18.

Police said the woman was charged with damaging a HTC EVO 4G LTE mobile telephone valued at $299 owned by Kyle Gronski.

Police said Phelan was charged after she refused to reimburse Gronski for the telephone.

in accident

NEW RINGGOLD - Two people escaped injury when the 2012 Chevrolet Equinox they were in crashed on Clamtown Road in the area of Pleasant Valley Road in East Brunswick Township, about 4:15 p.m. Sunday, police said.

State police at Frackville said William Powell, 58, of Hazleton, was driving east on Clamtown Road, Route 443, when he struck a deer that ran onto the highway from the right side directly into his path.

Powell and his passenger, Marie Powell, 54, also of Hazleton, were not hurt and the SUV had to be towed from the scene, police said.

MaryD man

not hurt in crash

MARYD - A 41-year-old MaryD man escaped injury when the 2009 Subaru Impreza he was driving crashed on Walnut Street in this Schuylkill Township village about 1:20 p.m. Friday, police said.

State police at Frackville said Mark Caputo was driving south when he swerved to miss an animal on the highway, went off onto the west berm of the road and hit a utility pole.

Police said Caputo was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and that MaryD and Tuscarora firefighters assisted at the scene.

Cumbola man

faces charges

MECHANICSVILLE - A 50-year-old Cumbola man was charged with possession of a controlled substance after an incident at 8 Park St. about 10:35 a.m. Friday, police said.

State police at Frackville said Marvin Marion Nowling was committed to Schuylkill County Prison after police learned he was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant.

Police said as they were taking Nowling into custody for the warrant they discovered he had heroin in his possession.

Police seek man

who dumped tire

BARNESVILLE - An incident of scattering rubbish that occurred on Route 1018, Foothill Street, in Ryan Township about 11:10 a.m. Sunday is being investigated by state police at Frackville.

Police said a white man with a beard and mustache wearing a black knit cap rolled an old tire over an embankment and drove east toward Tamaqua in an older brown GMC full size pickup truck.
