2 men injured
in I-81 crash
McADOO - Two men were flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown with non life-threatening injuries they suffered when the 1012 Toyota Corolla they were in crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer in the southbound lanes of Interstate 81, at mile marker 136.8 in Kline Township, at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday.
State police at Frackville said the crash occurred as one of the men, whose names are still unknown, was driving south where traffic is reduced into a single lane for road construction, failed to slow down and ran into the back of a 2012 Peterbilt tractor-trailer being driven by Peter Juers, 53, of Millville, Minn.
Juers was not hurt and police said McAdoo firefighters and EMS along with the APTS ambulance service assisted at the scene.
Branchdale man
to face charges
BRANCHDALE - A 52-year-old Branchdale man is facing charges of harassment by state police at Schuylkill Haven after an incident at 12 Spruce St. in Reilly Township about 11:40 p.m. Monday.
Police said Dale Steffie became involved in an argument with Judy Fitzpatrick, 40, also of Branchdale, during which he struck the woman in the face, knocking off her glasses.
Steffie will now have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge Carol A. Pankake, Tremont.
Woman victim
of hit-run crash
FRIEDENSBURG - A 36-year-old Auburn woman escaped injury in a hit and run crash that occurred at routes 183 and 443 in Wayne Township at 5:25 p.m. Monday.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said someone was driving south on Route 183 turned left onto Route 443 driving directly into the path of a vehicle being driven north on Route 183 by Heather Homa, 36, of Auburn.
The front bumper of Homa's vehicle hit the rear bumper and fender of the unidentified vehicle whose driver then continued east on Route 443 without stopping.
