Shenandoah man

charged at game

WILLIAMSTOWN - A 27-year-old Shenandoah man was charged by state police at Lykens with disorderly conduct after an incident at the Shenandoah-Williams Valley high school football game at 9:45 p.m. Saturday.

Police said Thomas J. Zarcufsky will have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge Rebecca Margerum, Elizabethville.

Zarcufsky, police said, threw a can or bottle of soda at the Shenandoah Valley High School football team as they were coming off of the field at the end of the game.

Car stolen

from alley

HERSHEY - A gold unlocked Toyota Corolla 4D was stolen while parked between 4:30 p.m. and 4:10 a.m. Saturday at 319 N. St. Williams Township, Dauphin County.

State police at Lykens said Daniel Lee Wolff, 26, had the Toyota stolen from an alley near his house.

The registration number for the Toyota is No. JCW4343.

Deer blamed

in accident

MAHANOY - A Barnesville man and his passengers escaped injury Monday on West Centre Street, Mahanoy Township.

State police at Frackville said the crash occurred as the driver swerved trying to avoid hitting a deer.

As the minor was driving east in a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier he lost control of his vehicle, striking a guide rail.

The driver and passengers were wearing seat belts, police said. The car was towed from the scene, police said.

The driver was cited with a junior driver's license violation, police said.

Woman charged

with DUI

SHOEMAKERSVILLE - Charges will be filed against a Shoemakesville woman after she was accused of driving under the influence Friday in Perry Township, Berks County.

State police at Hamburg said Tammy Kershner, 42, was stopped at 10:52 p.m. for speeding on a road not laned for traffic on Route 61.

Police later determined she was driving a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire while intoxicated and arrested her, police said.

Charges will be filed at Magisterial District Judge Kim L. Bagenstose's office, Hamburg, police said.

Pottsville man

injured in crash

PINE GROVE - A 22-year-old Pottsville man suffered minor injuries when the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee he was driving crashed on Camp Road, just south of Covered Bridge Road in Washington Township, at 1:16 a.m. Monday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Kyle Fehr was driving south when he failed to make a left turn and lost control of his SUV causing it to barrel roll end over end.

The vehicle continued through the south and northbound lanes and went off the road and struck a large tree causing it to spin clockwise, re-enter the northbound lane and come to a stop on all four wheels, police said.

Fehr, who police said will be cited as a result of the crash, was taken to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson for a blood alcohol test.

Pine Grove firefighters and EMS assisted at the scene, police said.

Woman suffered

head injury

TAMAQUA - A 36-year-old Tamaqua woman suffered a head injury after a deer ran out in front of her vehicle at the bottom of Hometown Hill at 2:28 a.m. Monday.

Tamaqua police said Cara Eroh, 417 Willing St., Tamaqua, was driving a 2001 Volvo and swerved to miss a deer that ran out in front of her and struck an embankment that rolled the vehicle onto its side. She was transferred to St. Luke's Hospital- Miners Campus by Tamaqua Ambulance.

Charges are pending blood test results at the completion of the investigation, police said.

Rush Township police were also on scene.
