Youth injured

in accident

HEGINS - A 17-year-old male suffered injuries when he drove off Fearnot Road in Hubley Township on Sunday afternoon, according to state police at Schuylkill Haven.

At 12:19 p.m., the young man was driving a 2000 Saturn L Series car west on Fearnot Road. As he made a right turn, he fishtailed, left the westbound side of the road and struck a ditch, police said.

The driver was taken by Hegins Area EMS to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, police said.

Concrete sidewalk

CRESSONA - A vandal spray painted black lettering on a privately owned concrete sidewalk Saturday, state police at Schuylkill Haven said Sunday.

The location, at 64 Schuylkill St., is owned by Bret Maley, 36, police said.

2 from Halifax

injured in crash

HALIFAX - Two people from Halifax suffered minor injuries when a car hit a motorcycle in Halifax Township in Dauphin County Saturday afternoon, according to state police at Lykens.

At 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Todd M. Snyder, 48, of Lykens, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado on Peters Mountain Road when he failed to observe a red signal at Parmer Drive and struck a westbound motorcycle, police said.

Driving the 2008 Suzuki SX4 was Denise L. Vanreyendam, 44, of Halifax. Her passenger, Peter J. Vanreyendam, 48, also of Halifax, both suffered minor injuries and were taken by Halifax EMS to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, police said.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Police charged Snyder with careless driving, police said.

Police probe

Lykens burglarly

LYKENS - State police at Lykens are searching for a burglar who entered an unlocked shed in Lykens, Dauphin County, either Friday or Saturday, ransacked the contents and damaged a skateboard.

The crime occurred between 11 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday at 406 Division St., a property owned by Jonn Levi Reed IV, 40, police said.
