vehicle vandalism
MECHANICSVILLE - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating vandalism to a vehicle that occurred between Thursday and Saturday at 1035 E. Norwegian St.
Police said someone let the air out of the tires of a 1997 Ford Escort LX that belongs to Karen L. Urban, 65, of Pottsville, and spray painted the name "Sabrina" across the passenger's side doors.

GPS device, money
taken from vehicle
WICONISCO - State police at Lykens are investigating a theft from a vehicle that occurred between Dec. 3 and Wednesday at 400 South St.
Police said someone stole a Garmin NUVI GPS and approximately $20 worth of change from a vehicle belonging to Norman Franklin Ebersole, 37, of Wiconisco.

Tremont man
injured in crash
MAHANOY CITY - A 28-year-old Tremont man suffered minor injuries in a crash at 2:40 p.m. Sunday on Route 54 in Mahanoy Township.
State police at Frackville said Ryan K. Seitz, driving a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta, was traveling west on Route 54 when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer.
Seitz then struck a rock embankment on the north berm, police said.
His vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
Van damaged
in hit-and-run
GIRARDVILLE - State police at Frackville are investigating a hit-and-run that occurred between 3 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday on Preston Avenue near South John Street.
Police said that a 2003 Ford Windstar was legally parked on the 300 block of Preston Avenue in Girardville when it was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
The damage to the Ford was minor and consisted of a small dent in the rear bumper and blue-green paint transfer on the driver's side, police said.

Elizabethville man
arrested, in jail
ELIZABETHVILLE - State police at Lykens arrested a man in connection to an incident Nov. 11 at Main Street in Elizabethville.
Police said Dennis Michael Homberg, 42, of Elizabethville, was arrested for breaking into an ex-girlfriend's apartment.
Homberg forcibly entered the apartment when she wasn't home and once inside, glued a refrigerator door shut, glued a utensil drawer shut and poured glue on a computer keyboard, police said.
Homberg was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, stalking and criminal mischief, police said.
Charges were filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Rebecca J. Margerum, Elizabethville, and will be arraigned at a later date. He is currently in the Dauphin County Prison, police said.
Gordon man
to face charge
ORWIGSBURG - A Gordon man escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash at 11:50 a.m. Thursday on Chestnut Road at its intersection with New Philadelphia Road in West Brunswick Township.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said John M. Harty, 54, of Gordon, driving a 2003 Mack truck, was traveling east on Route 443, and attempted to turn left onto New Philadelphia Road.
After the vehicle entered the intersection, the truck began to tip over and it rolled onto its roof off the northbound shoulder of New Philadelphia Road into a dirt parking area, police said.
The vehicle came to rest on its roof facing north off of New Philadelphia Road. It sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene, police said.
The vehicle was towing ammonium nitrate (oxidizer) in its tank at the time of the crash. The truck company arrived on scene and cleaned up the spilled cargo, police said.
Harty was charged with failing to drive at a safe speed, police said.
Haven woman
hits deer in road
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - A Schuylkill Haven woman escaped injury when she hit a deer at 4:56 p.m. Thursday on Moyers Station Road near Long Run Road in Wayne Township.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Louise A. Bush, 50, was traveling south on Moyers Station Road when a deer entered the roadway from the southbound shoulder.
Bush was unable to avoid the deer and the deer struck the windshield of the vehicle, police said.
By Bush's request, the vehicle was towed from the scene. She was not injured and there were no charges filed, police said.

causes crash
DONALDSON - A Lebanon man was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:37 a.m. Friday on Route 209 at its intersection with Interstate 81 in Frailey Township.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Michael S. Smith, 40, of Lebanon, driving a 2002 Ford truck, was traveling south on Route 209, crossing over the I-81 interchange bridge.
As the vehicle was crossing the bridge, it slipped on black ice then struck the traffic median off the southbound lane, spun and rolled onto its driver's side. It came to rest in the left lane on its driver's side facing east, police said.
Smith was transported by West Schuylkill ALS to Schuykill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street for injuries of unknown severity.
Assisting on the scene were Tremont Fire Company, Joliett Fire Company and fire police.
Stolen truck
found by police
NEW PHILADELPHIA - State police at Frackville are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle that occurred between Dec. 3 and Saturday at Silver Creek Road in Blythe Township.
Police said that sometime between the dates, an unknown suspect arrived at the location and stole a blue 1993 Ford F-150 extended cap pickup truck that belonged to James John Ney, 78, of New Philadelphia. The truck was later recovered.

Wallet stolen
from unlocked van
FRACKVILLE - Frackville police are investigating a stolen wallet that occurred sometime before 11:15 a.m. Dec. 3 at 482 W. Frack St.
Police said the wallet belonged to John Zangaro, Frackville, who reported the wallet was taken out of his blue 2011 Ford Windstar minivan while it was parked near his home.
Zangaro said the theft occurred with the prior two days and was left on the console. The doors were unlocked and all of Zangaro's identification was in his wallet, including his driver's license, Social Security card and credit cards. There were also $10 cash in the wallet, police said.
