SAINT CLAIR - An Arnots Addition man was jailed Saturday after Saint Clair police charged him with exposing himself at an area business on two separate occasions.
Police said Stephen S. Kubeika, 24, was charged with two counts each of indecent exposure, open lewdness, harassment and disorderly conduct and one count of resisting arrest.
Police said the incident occurred at the Exxon convenient store at Route 61 and Russell Street where officers were called about 2 a.m. Saturday for a report of a man who exposed his private parts to the cashier after making a purchase.
At the scene, police said the cashier was able to positively identify the man as Kubeika.
The employee told officers that after leaving the store, Kubeika pulled down his pants and exposed himself and made obscene gestures while laughing.
Within minutes of receiving the report, police said an officer had Kubeika in custody. The man fit the description provided by the clerk and was then positively identified by the cashier.
Police said Kubeika was involved in a similar incident at the store just two days before.
On Dec. 13, also about 2 a.m., police said a different cashier was on duty and reported a man matching the same description entered the store, bought items and, once he had left the store, exposed himself before fleeing in a white SUV.
The investigation determined Kubeika was the man who exposed himself on Dec. 13 as well.
While being taken into custody after Saturday's incident police said Kubeika offered resistance, which led to the sole resisting arrest charge.
Kubeika was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Pottsville, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison where he was later released on $20,000 bail.
