men charged
SHENANDOAH - Three Mahanoy City men were jailed after being arrested in connection with a Jan. 6 burglary in Shenandoah.
Christian Vazquez-Rodriguez, 21, and Rogelio Aponte-Santiago, 29, both of 218 E. Mahanoy Ave., and Ricardo R. Aponte-Mendez, 21, of 216 E. Mahanoy Ave. were arraigned on charges of simple assault, burglary, criminal trespass, robbery and conspiracy.
The three were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to each post $50,000 straight cash bail.
Shenandoah Police Lt. Gary Keppel said the three pushed their way into the apartment of Shawn Schlauch at 221 E. Centre St. around 4:45 p.m., attacked the man by pushing him into a corner and assaulting him.
The three then stole Schlauch's tool box, loaded it into a pickup truck and fled the area, Keppel said.

hits deer
FRACKVILLE - West Mahanoy Township police investigated a crash that occurred at Morea Road and Firemans Road in the Altamont section of the township about 11 p.m. Thursday.
Police said John Brill Jr., Tamaqua, was driving a 2001 Dodge Durango south on the Morea Road when a deer ran into the highway.
The man was unable to avoid the deer and hit the animal causing minor damage to his SUV, police said.
Brill and his passenger, Dana Brill, also of Tamaqua, both escaped injury, police said.
Charges filed
against woman
GIRARDVILLE - State police at Frackville said charges will be filed against a 25-year-old Girardville woman after an incident at 16 E. Main St. about 3 p.m. Thursday.
Police said Adrienne Yawornicky will have charges of possession of drug paraphernalia against her filed with Magisterial District Judge Christina E. Hale, Frackville.
According to police, troopers were called to the home for a possible drug overdose and found the woman in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sex offender
case probed
FRACKVILLE - State police at Frackville are looking for information on a man who failed to comply with registration laws after being placed on the Megan's Law list for life after being classified as a sexually violent offender.
Polcie said James E. Dickinson, 43, is described as being black, 5-feet 7-inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds.
Dickinson was an inmate at SCI-Mahanoy and prior to his release on Sunday completed Megan's Law registration listing a residence as an address in Philadelphia that was later determined to be abandoned, police said.
Dickinson failed to report to his current address within 72 hours and his whereabouts are not known, police said, adding that the man has family members in Philadelphia.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Dickson is asked to call state police at Frackville at 570-874-5300 or their local police department.
Police investigate stolen credit card
State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating an identity theft at occurred at 11:38 a.m. Nov. 29 at 17 Weavers Road in North Manheim Township.
Police said the Sears credit card information of Larry Newswanger, 65, of Pottsville, was obtained and used to make a purchase at a Sears in Roseville, Calif.
The purchase totaled $45.84, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
