Pottsville police removed items from a city home Wednesday that could be used to manufacture methamphetamine.
Patrolman Richard Pugh said that about 2:30 a.m., officers were conducting an investigation at 431 Greenwood Ave.
Inside, they found bath salts and items that could be materials used to make meth, but they provided no further details.
After finding the items, Pugh said police obtained a search warrant from Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier, Orwigsburg, and contacted the Pennsylvania State Police Clandestine Lab Response Team based in Bethlehem.
The state police team assisted city officers with documenting what was found, and safely removing potentially dangerous materials and contraband.
Police Capt. Richard Wojciechowsky said the items removed from the home will be forensically examined.
Police did not say what prompted them to initially conduct the investigation.
