Police log, Feb. 4, 2013

2 women injured

in single-car crash

LYKENS - Two women susffered injuries in a one-car accident at 5:50 a.m. Sunday.

State police at Schuyllkill Haven said the accident occurred on Fearnot Road, Hubley Township.

Jessica Yeagley, 27, Gratz, was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer east on Fearnot Road at about 30 mph when the vehicle began to slide, police said.

The vehicle started to turn counter-clockwise going in the eastbound lane and acrossed the westbound lane, police said.

The vehicle left the road and overturned on the roof after entering a creek bed, police said.

Both Yeagley and her passenger, Samatha Reynolds, 21, Sacramento, were taken to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street by Hegins Ambulance, police said.

Both were wearing seat belts, police as said. Their conditions could not be obtained Sunday.

The vehicle was towed from the scene. Charges will be filed at Magisterial District Jusice Carol Pankake's Tremont office.

The Sacramento Community Fire Company also responded to the scene.

City man escapes

injury in crash

BARRY - The driver of a 2003 Lincoln Town car escaped injury in an accident at 4:14 a.m. Friday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred as Jordan Kessler, 36, of Pottsville, was driving south on Taylorsville Road, east of Sunbury Road in Barry Township.

Kessler was attempting to make a left turn and struck a large area of ice, causing him to lose control and drive off the road and onto the west berm, police said.

While doing so, the car glanced a PPL utility pole with its right, front axle and collided with a mailbox at 1415 Taylorsivlle Road, police said.

The vehicle came to a stop along the southbound lane of Taylorsville Road, police said.

Police said Kessler was wearing a seat belt.

The vehicle was towed from the scene. Lavelle Fire Company and fire police responded.

Orwigsburg man

injured in crash

ORWIGSBURG - An Orwigsburg man was flown to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest with head, chest and leg injuries after crashing his vehicle Friday.

His condition could not be obtained Sunday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Joseph Michael Evans was driving west on Ridge Road and lost control of his vehicle at 10:10 p.m.

His 2011 Chevrolet Camaro traveled north and hit a culvert, the passenger front side hit two trees north of the road causing it to spin abou it 90 degrees clockwise, police said.

The vehicle stopped facing north in the eastbound lane.

Police said Evans displayed signs of being under the influence of alcohol, charges are pending blood results. The vehicle was towed.

Orwigsburg police Department, Orwigsburg Fire Department, Orwigsburg EMS and Pottsville/ Schuylkill Haven EMS responded to the scene.
