Pottsville Rotary
Pottsville Area High School seniors Annelisa Przywara and Chey Jones and Nativity BVM High School seniors Darby White and Dan Andrews were named students of the month for January by the Pottsville Rotary Club.
Annelisa is a daughter of Lynanne Przywara, Pottsville. She is secretary of her senior class, president and four-year member of the Leo Club, three-year member of student council and a two-year member of SADD, prom committee and Spanish Club.
A member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society, Annelisa is a four-year varsity member of the track and field team, competing in the high jump and long jump, and a 14-year member of L.A. Dance Theatre Inc., Saint Clair. She plans to attend college and pursue a degree in communications.
Chey is a son of Alvin and Jodi DeLeon, Port Carbon. He is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society, a four-year member of the Spanish Club and student council, a three-year member of the Quiz Team and Leo Club and two-year member of SADD. He has earned letters in cross country and track.
Chey's future plans are to attend Temple University, Philadelphia, and study pre-pharmacy.
Darby is a daughter of Rick and Andrea White, Auburn, and attends St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, where she is active in CYO sports, being a sacristan and volunteering at the annual parish picnic.
Darby is student government secretary and varsity soccer team captain. She is a member of Interact, Meals on Wheels and student ambassadors.
She participated in the Greater Pottsville Winter Carnival Snowflake Princess Pageant and was a member of the homecoming court. Darby has also received Outstanding Achievement Awards in consumer economics, trigonometry and pre-calculus.
Darby plans to attend Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, and major in business.
Dan is a son of Bruce and Melissa Williams, Frackville. He attends St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, where he is active in the choir.
Dan is involved in student government, Interact, drama and track and field He also serves as a football and basketball manager.
He has received the Outstanding Achievement Award in accounting and Nativity Spirit awards. He plans to attend college and major in business.
