RINGTOWN - A borough man won $1 million in the Dec. 22 Powerball drawing.

Leonard Kamarousky had his winning ticket entered into the Lottery system Jan. 7, Gary Miller, spokesman for the Pennsylvania Lottery, said Wednesday.

Miller was not allowed to release any contact information on the winner. Kamarousky did not wish to comment when reached Wednesday about his good fortune.

A woman who said she was Kamarousky's wife and would not give her first name, said she and her husband did not wish to talk about winning the lottery.

Miller also could not say if Kamarousky took a lump sum payout or how the funds were given.

"A 25 percent federal withholding tax (is taken) right off the top," he said.

Miller said he also did not know when Kamarousky submitted his ticket or what location he went to.

Claims for winning tickets can be filed at the lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or seven area offices throughout the state.

His winning ticket correctly matched all five white balls but not the red Powerball. The winning numbers were 1-18-35-39-44. The Powerball was 11. The ticket was sold at Stauffer's One Stop in Ringtown on Dec. 22.

Because the business sold the winning ticket, it will receive $5,000.

A $1 million ticket was also sold in Baden, Beaver County, at the Giant Eagle.

Lottery winners in Schuylkill County in 2012 collected $39,640,382, the latest data available, according to the lottery.
