TAMAQUA - State police at Frackville are investigating the theft of a license plate that occurred at 147 Meadow Lane in Walker Township between 7 p.m. Feb. 8 and 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police said Ronald Farrell said someone stole the plate from his 2001 Kia Sportage and fled the scene.
The plate has a Pennsylvania registration of DJG-4936, police said, adding that anyone with information can call them at 570-874-5300.
Pine Grove man
faces charges
GRANTVILLE - A 21-year-old Pine Grove man was charged with theft of property lost, mislaid or delivered by mistake after an incident at the Hollywood Casino at Penn National in East Hanover Township, Dauphin County, at 7:16 p.m. Saturday.
State police from the Casino's Bureau of Gaming Enforcement said Aaron M. Williams will have to answer to the charge before a Dauphin County magisterial district judge.
Police said a Harrisburg woman unknowingly dropped an envelope containing $200 near a cashier's cage. Within a short time a woman picked up the envelope and appeared to have looked around to see where it came from, police said.
It was then Williams approached the second woman, took possession of the envelope and left the casino a short time later with two other men, police said.
Hazleton woman
arrested in McAdoo
McADOO - McAdoo police arrested a 19-year-old Hazleton woman and charged her in connection with an investigation into an incident that occurred in the borough on July 12, 2012.
Police said Tuesday that Rachel L. Rebarchick, 927 W. First St., was charged with one count each of felony conspiracy, misdemeanor tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and summary prohibiting text-based communications.
Police said Rebarchick was driving a vehicle that officers stopped after seeing her doing what appeared to be texting while driving.
It was during the stop police said officers found marijuana and other drug paraphernalia that the woman's male passenger admitted were his.
Charges against Rebarchick were filed with Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua, police said.
Cans of beer

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred at 200 Walnut St. in East Norwegian Township between 9:45 and 9:50 p.m. Sunday.
Police said Timothy Reed, Pottsville, said someone threw three cans of beer at his 2000 Chevrolet Blazer, shattering the driver's side window. The vandals then fled the area west on Walnut Street, police said.

Shen woman, man
charged in theft
FRACKVILLE - A Shenandoah man and woman were jailed Wednesday after being arrested and charged in connection with a burglary and theft from the Black Diamond store in the Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township, between 1 and 3 a.m. Nov. 24.
State police at Frackville said Jeffrey Durgis, 40, was charged with conspiracy, burglary, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.
Jennifer Richardson, 36, was charged with burglary conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, police said.
Both were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post 10 percent of $25,000 bail, police said.
Police said the two broke into the store, smashed a display case and removed gold and silver coins before fleeing the area.
The value of the coins was estimated at $5,445 and damage to the entrance door and the case thought to be about $600.
In addition to the burglary, police said each of the two were charged stemming from an incident at an adjacent store the day before, Nov. 23.
Police said about 5:30 p.m., the two entered Blum's Auction where Richardson removed a 10-carat gold ring valued at $110 from a display case and both left the store without paying.
In this case, police said Richardson was charged with retail theft and Durgis with conspiracy.
Those charges were filed at Plachko's Port Carbon office, police said.
In each of the incidents, police said Richardson and Durgis were identified as suspects, interviewed and admitted to the crimes.
Barnesville man
faces charges
MOREA - A 36-year-old Barnesville man was jailed after incidents between 9 a.m. Feb. 8 and 3 p.m. Feb. 9 on Lower Street in this Mahanoy Township village.
State police at Frackville said Michael Hannock was charged with terroristic threats, harassment and stalking.
Police said they obtained warrants for the man's arrest on Feb. 9 and took Hannock into custody on Wednesday.
He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker, Shenandoah, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail.
In addition, Hannock was charged with indirect criminal contempt for violating a Protection From Abuse order, allowing Kilker to add an additional $10,000 straight cash bail.
The charges against Hannock stem from him calling and texting a 37-year-old Mahanoy City woman on several occasions making verbal threats to her and her child.
State police have
new number
REEDSVILLE - State police at Schuylkill Haven said Wednesday that there is a new telephone number to access their station.
Police said they are switching to a new telephone company and that company is unable to use the existing numbers due to proprietary regulations.
Calls for 911 are not affected, police said.
Work is currently being done so when the public calls the old number, 570-593-2000, calls are forwarded to the new number.
In the event the calls are not transferred, police said, the following new numbers can be used: telephone, 570-739-1330; fax, 570-739-1356; and TTY, 570-739-1388.
The Schuylkill County Communications Center is aware of the change and police ask all residents to note the changes, as well.
