WILLIAMSTOWN - A man and woman were jailed Tuesday charged with assaulting their infant child resulting in several bones being broken.
Brett J. Bhoner, 19, and Chelsea M. Cormack, 18, both of Williamstown, were arrested by state police Trooper Kyle A. Tobin of the Lykens station and charged with aggravated assault of a child and endangering the welfare of a child.
Tobin charged the couple with assaulting a 7-week-old girl over the course of five weeks of her life.
As a result, Tobin said the child suffered multiple broken bones.
The injuries, Tobin said, were discovered when the child was taken to a hospital for treatment and the incident reported to authorities.
Bhoner and Cormack were arraigned by Dauphin County Magisterial District Judge Gregory D. Johnson, Dauphin, and committed to Dauphin County Prison unable to post $150,000 bail each.
Both will now have to appear for preliminary hearings before Magisterial District Judge Rebecca Margerum, Elizabethville.
Tobin did release any other details on the incident and attempts to obtain court paperwork Friday night were unsuccessful.
