n McAdoo: The McAdoo Lions Club and St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, 17 E. Blaine St., will sponsor an American Red Cross blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Feb. 26. n Pottsville: The Schuylkill Area Community Foundation, 216 S. Centre St., is accepting grant applications from Schuylkill County nonprofit organizations. According to an SACF release, the grant cycle is for the unrestricted funds and field-of-interest funds managed by the foundation. Funding areas, or "Pillars of the Foundation," include: Arts and culture, community, education, environment, health an wellness and human services. The applications must be completed online at www.sacfoundation.com and submitted by noon March 15. Students should also review the list of scholarship funds that donors have established at the foundation. The scholarship applications, descriptions and deadlines dates are available at the aforementioned website. n Schuylkill Haven: A musical and dinner show is set for 7 p.m. March 16 at the St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Parish Center. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the price is $25 per person. Galla & Dan Variety Music will provide entertainment - '50s and '60s tunes as well as some Irish tunes, according to a release. Dinner will be family style with chicken cordon bleu and mock lobster, baked potato, red skin potatoes, green beans, glazed carrots and for desserts, homemade chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. n Tamaqua: With the possibility of winter snow or ice events looming, borough officials recently reiterated rules concerning snow removal. Property owners are required to maintain a clear path, at least three feet wide, on sidewalks. Snow and/or ice must be removed from sidewalks within 24 hours of the end of a storm. Snow, ice and other material may not be thrown onto streets. Fines of $25 or more may be imposed on anyone caught throwing snow or ice into the street or who fails to maintain a snow-free pathway on the sidewalk. People who plow snow from in front of homes and businesses must remove any piles of snow they create. Anyone piling snow in the street or parking areas could be cited.
