Man charged for
alleged bad check
JONESTOWN - State police at Jonestown reported filing bad check charges against a 42-year-old Schuylkill Haven man after an incident July 12, 2012.
Police said Harold Carbaugh Jr. issued a check to Hellers Gas, 2437 Route 72 in Union Township, Lebanon County, that the business was unable to cash.
The man was charged after failing to respond to the Lebanon County Bad Check Program, police said.
Person injured
in car accident
MCKEANSBURG - One person was injured in a two-car crash in at 7:30 a.m. in East Brunswick Township on Friday.
State police at Frackville said the accident occurred at Summer Valley Road and Hawk Mountain Road as Samatha L. Thomas, 28, of Drumore, was driving a 1996 Saturn east on Route 895 and with the front bumper hit the passenger's side rear bumper of a 2000 Ford driven by Kyle Z. Davis, 22, of Dornsife.
Davis was turning right to travel south on Hawk Mountain Road, police said.
The Saturn then traveled east for about 100 feet across the westbound lane and stopped on the north side of Route 895 facing a northeast direction, partially in the westbound lane, police said.
After being hit, the Ford traveled about 75 feet and stopped at South Rabbitrun Road facing east, police said.
Neither Davis nor his two passengers, Amos Zook, 18, of Lykens, or Slyvan Stoltzfus, Millersburg, were injured, police said.
All occupants in the Ford were wearing seat belts, police said. Thomas was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
Thomas suffered a moderate injury and was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown, by the New Ringgold Fire and Ambulance.
A spokeswoman said Thomas had been treated and discharged Friday.
State police charged Thomas with a violation for failure to drive at a safe speed.
Tractor-trailer
damaged, robbed
BETHEL - The tractor-trailer owned by a 35-year-old was damaged and items were stolen Saturday in Lebanon County.
State police at Jonestown said the theft took place between 3:32 and 11 a.m. as a vehicle owned by Michael Moorehead, Yazoo City, Miss., was parked at Interstate 78, exit 6 in Bethel Township.
Someone then smashed the passenger's side window and entered stealing a GPS, phone charger, two pairs of pants, two white T-shirts and a pair of shoes, police said.
Those responsible then fled. Those with information are asked to call the state police at Jonestown at 717-865-2194.
