n Coaldale: Saturday Night Bingo games are held weekly at the Coaldale Ambulance Building. Doors and the kitchen open at 5 p.m. and games begin at 6:30 p.m. The event includes a variety of games. Free coffee and tea are available and there are weekly door prizes. Proceeds benefit the ambulance group. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 570-645-2050.

n McAdoo: Ss. Peter & Paul Polish National Catholic Church, 44 E. Adams St., holds Lenten food sales on Fridays through March 8. Items include homemade potato cakes and halushki, homemade macaroni and cheese and various homemade soups and baked goods. Advance orders are appreciated, but walk-ins are welcome. n McAdoo: Borough officials have issued a reminder to property owners that the 2013 garbage bills have been mailed. Anyone who has not received an invoice should call 570-929-1182. Feb. 15 was the deadline to take advantage of a $10 off offer.

n Minersville: God's Bountiful Table provides meals for people who are disadvantaged or in need. The meals are served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month in the Father Anthony J. Ricapito Annex of St. Matthew the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 139 Spruce St.

n Port Carbon: The Port Carbon Janet Eich Public Library is planning a Chinese auction for noon to 2 p.m. March 24. A shop-and-drop is set for 1 to 4 p.m. March 23 at First United Methodist Church, Pike and Washington streets. Coordinator Janet Eich said in a release donated new items will be appreciated and can be dropped off at the library as soon as possible.

n Ringtown: The Friends of the Ringtown Library support group will stage its annual used book sale April 6 and 7 at the Schuylkill Mall, Frackville. Donations of gently used books, audio books, movies, puzzles and board games in good condition can be dropped off at the library, 132 W. Main St., by April 3. The group does not accept encyclopedias, textbooks or news, science and technology magazines. People donating should not put book sale donations in the library book return box. For more information about the sale, visit www.ringtownlibrary.org. The library will host free preschool storytime sessions for children 3 to 5 years old at 11:15 a.m. every Monday through March 25. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All local families with preschool-age children are invited to attend for the youngsters to socialize with other children and gain essential pre-reading skills. People area asked to register in advance at the library.

n Shenandoah: The Polish American Fire Company, Centre and West streets - America's only Polish American Fire Company - will celebrate its 100th birthday in 2015, when it will also host the 2015 Schuylkill County Volunteer Firefighters Convention and Parade. The event will join with the annual Shenandoah Heritage Day and Parade of Nations. The Schuylkill Historical Fire Society Museum, 105 S. Jardin St., will be open to visitors during the celebration as will the Greater Shenandoah Area Historical Society's headquarters and museum at Main and Cherry streets. The following year, 2016, will be Shenandoah's sesquicentennial, or 150th birthday. The Polish American firefighters will sponsor a homemade devil crab dinner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 8 at the firehouse. Meals will also include a baked potato, green beans, applesauce, roll, butter and dessert. Patrons may eat at the firehouse or take platters out. Free delivery will be available in the Shenandoah area. The cost is $9. For advance tickets, call 570-462-0970 or contact any fire company member. Proceeds will benefit the truck fund.

n Tamaqua: The Tamaqua Anthracite Model Railroad Club meets from 6 to 8 p.m. weekly on Thursdays at its quarters on Nescopeck Street across from the Elks building. New members are welcome. For more information, call 570-467-2025.
