MINERSVILLE - Borough police arrested four people on drug charges Tuesday and obtained arrest warrants for two others they couldn't find.
Taken into custody were Jennifer Roman, 28, of 630 Lewis St., Minersville; Jaxson R. Detweiler, 28, of 9 Stanton St., Schuylkill Haven; Holly M. McGovern, 29, of 210 Pine St., Apt. B, Minersville, and Brandon M. Kneas, 26, whose last known address was 313 Pine Hill St., Minersville.
Arrest warrants were obtained for Maegan E. Azbell, 26, of 232 Nicholas St., Saint Clair, and Matthew J. Laub, 22, whose last known address was 420 E. Market St., Pottsville.
- Detweiler was charged on two warrants, one from an incident Feb. 18 and the other on Friday. For the earlier incident, police charged Detweiler with one felony count each of delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communications facility and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.
In the later incident, police charged Detweiler with one felony count of delivery of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Detweiler was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, who set bail at $25,000 straight cash for each complaint and remanded the man to Schuylkill County Prison
In the Feb. 18 incident, police said Detweiler was charged with selling five small bags of heroin to an undercover officer for $100 in the area of the Fuel Up convenience store. Four days later, in the same area of the borough, police said the man sold five small glassine bags of heroin to an undercover officer for $150.
- Roman was arraigned on a felony count of delivery of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor offense each of endangering the welfare of children and possession of a controlled substance.
Plachko arraigned Roman and committed her to prison after she was unable to post 10 percent of $25,000 bail.
Police said an undercover officer was at the woman's home, where he handed her $25 for an eighth of an ounce of marijuana. Roman left her home, leaving her small children with the officer, and returned a short time later with the marijuana.
- Kneas was arraigned on two warrants, on which he was each charged with one count of felony delivery of a controlled substance, felony criminal use of a communications facility and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. He was committed to prison unable to post 10 percent of $25,000 bail on each of the complaints.
Police said Kneas sold marijuana Jan. 24 to an undercover officer for $60 in the area of the Minersville Area High School baseball field. Kneas again sold marijuana for $60 to the officer in the area of Pine and North Fourth streets Jan. 30, police said.
- McGovern was charged with one felony count each of conspiracy to commit delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communications facility after an incident Feb. 5 at Pine and North Fourth streets. She was arraigned by Plachko and committed to prison in lieu of 10 percent of $10,000 bail.
Police said the woman conspired with another man to sell crack cocaine to a confidential informant for $50.
The arrest warrant for Azbell charges her with one felony count each of criminal attempt to commit delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communications facility, and misdemeanor offenses of theft by deception, theft and receiving stolen property.
Police said that on Jan. 31 in the 600 block of Sunbury Street, Azbell was given $49 by an undercover officer to purchase seven Percocet pills, left the area to get the medication and never returned.
Laub is wanted on three warrants each, charging him with one felony count of delivery of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Police said Laub sold six small bags of heroin to an undercover officer for $120 in the area of the Fuel Up store Feb. 19. On Feb. 21, police said Laub sold an undercover officer seven small bags of heroin for $150 in the same area of the borough.
On Friday, police said Laub sold an undercover officer eight small bags of heroin for $150 from a vehicle in the first block of South Front Street.
