n Hamburg: In an event sponsored by the Diakon Living & Learning Monday Meander's Hiking Club, Dave McSurdy will lead a trek from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday along the Schuylkill River to the Kernsville Dam, Schuylkill County's lowest elevation point. The four-mile hike is rated easy. Participants will meet at 11:30 a.m. in the John Bartram Trail parking lot, located past Cracker Barrel in Hamburg. n McAdoo: McAdoo Catholic School officials are searching for alumni. According to an announcement, a social page has been set up to reunite former students of McAdoo Catholic. n Minersville: The 28th annual Minersville Area Food Drive will conclude Thursday. Chairman Edward M. Butler said in a press release the purpose of the drive was to "provide disadvantaged individuals of the Minersville area with food ... into the new year." n Pottsville: The Schuylkill Unitarian Universalists will begin a new session of "Building Your Own Theology" from 10:30 a.m. to noon Sunday. The program, according to a release, will be held the first Sunday of the month through June and will follow the first of three books written by retired UU Minister, the Rev. Dr. Richard S. Gilbert. "The purpose of the program is to provide tools for building a theology based on the materials of individual life experiences," according to the release. The self-directed workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Susan Johnston Graf at the UU's new location, 2400 West End Ave. There is no fee for the class; however, purchase of the book is necessary. n Pottsville: The Tuscarora RC Club will hold a static display of model aircraft beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Fairlane Village mall. The club is a nonprofit organization that flies model airplanes and helicopters out of Tuscarora State Park.
n Shenandoah: The Easter Bunny will be available from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Trinity Academy in the Father Walter J. Ciszek Education Center, 233 W. Cherry St., to pose for photos with children of all ages. In a press release, Michael J. Nieddu, Trinity's director of development, said Professional School Photography, Tuscarora, will offer a variety of photo packages for interested regional families. No reservations are required.
