Businesses face liquor violations
Six businesses in Schuylkill County were faced with liquor code violations after serving alcohol to a minor in December.
The Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited the Country Squire Restaurant and Motel Inc., 300 Route 61 South, North Manheim Township; The Downtowne Tavern, 24 W. Main St.; Country Beverage Inc., 107 Route 183, North Wayne Township; Manheim Diner Inc, 1614 Route 61 South, North Manheim Township; and The Inn of Orwigsburg, 200 W. Market St., Orwigsburg; and the Brickhouse Grill, Federal Square, 705. W. Market St., Orwigsburg; with selling, furnishing and or giving or permitted such sale, furnishing or giving alcoholic beverages to a 20-year old minor on Dec. 20.
An administrative law judge will decide each case. The judge has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses, issue a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge, and mandate training for the licensee to educate them about the responsibilities of having a license in the state.
