n Pine Grove: The Pine Grove Ambulance Association will offer a free course in first aid from 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the ambulance building. n Saint Clair: At a recent meeting, the borough council appointed Kimberly Lutzkanin to the post of borough tax collector. She will be in office for the next two years after which she must run for the position in the next municipal election.
n Schuylkill Haven: The South Schuylkill Garden Club has announced the availability of a $750 scholarship for a Schuylkill County high school senior or a current college student with career plans in any of the following college majors: Horticulture, floriculture, landscape architecture, conservation, forestry, botany, agronomy, plant pathology, environmental control, city planning, land management and/or related subjects. Interested students must submit an application, a letter of intent, two reference letters and an official transcript from their high school or college. Applications will be evaluated by the Scholarship Committee of the South Schuylkill Garden Club, according to a press release. The winner will be announced at the April garden club meeting.
