n Ashland: The Baruch Youth Group of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 35 N. Ninth St., Ashland, will hold a macaroni and cheese with breaded fish dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday in the church hall. Patrons should enter via the parking lot entrance. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. Dessert and beverage is included with each meal. n Cumbola: New Life in Christ Ministries, 217-219 Market St., operates a food pantry from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. the third Friday of the month. It offers monthly food bags to people who qualify by having a Pennsylvania photo ID and verifying their monthly income falls under the following limitations: Family of one, $1,361; two, $1,839; three, $2,316; four, $2,794; five, $3,271 and six, $3,749. n Lehighton: A pysanky workshop - the Ukrainian art of decorating Easter eggs - will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Ukrainian Homestead, 1230 Beaver Run Drive. n Lehighton: The Carbon County Fair Board of Directors will meet at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital community room (ground floor), 211 N. 12th St. Any individual or organization interested in becoming a vendor at the 2013 fair is asked to call Bob Silliman at 570-325-8685. n Mahanoy City: The West End Fire and Rescue Company will hold a "St. Patty's Day Madness at the Hosey" party from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the firehouse, 700 W. Mahanoy Ave. The cover charge is $5. Toolshed Jack will provide entertainment, food will be available and there will be a cash bar. People must be 21 or older to participate and photo IDs will be required.

n Shenandoah: Shenandoah Valley Elementary School will hold pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registrations for the 2013-14 school year from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. beginning Monday kindergarten and Tuesday and Wednesday for pre-kindergarten, by appointment only. The following documents must be presented for enrollment: Birth certificate, immunization records and three proofs of residency. Registration packets can be obtained at the elementary school office prior to an appointment to expedite the registration process, according to a release. n Shenandoah: The senior high Schuylkill County Band Concert will be held in the Shenandoah Valley High School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Friday, hosted by Blue Devil Pride Band Director Robert Stoner and guest conductor Fred David Romines, Ph.D., from Marywood University. The band is comprised of 130 of the top high school instrumental musicians in the county coming from thirteen schools. It is the first time in many years that Shenandoah Valley has hosted the event. The 130 students on stage will be dressed in their respective school uniforms to showcase their musical abilities. Families and friends of the band members will be offered advance ticket sales, but remaining seats will be offered to the public fifteen minutes before the concert begins. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for senior citizens and children through age 12. The public is urged to attend and show support for the student musicians.
