Mahanoy Middle
Jessica Gunoskey and Kyle Loughlin were named students of the month for January by Mahanoy Area Middle School faculty through a program sponsored by the Mahanoy City Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 695.
Jessica is a daughter of Joseph and Aimee Gunoskey, Barnesville. A distinguished honor student, she is involved in chorus, Mahanoy Area marching and concert bands, jazz band, county band, National Junior Honor Society, Paw Print, ski club, Theatre Arts, Red Cross club, seventh- and eighth-grade cheerleading, Girl Scouts and biddy volleyball. She volunteers with the Girl Scouts cleaning up parks and reading to young children.
Jessica plans to attend college and major in history.
Kyle is a son of Dennis and Cindy Loughlin, Morea. A distinguished honor student, he is National Junior Honor Society president and a member of chorus, biddy basketball, seventh- and eighth-grade football, intramural basketball, swim team and ski club.
Kyle is a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Church, Mahanoy City, where he volunteers his time at Vacation Bible School. He also helps at Mahanoy Area's elementary wrestling tournament.
He plans to attend college.
