Blue Mountain

Jacob Throne, Orwigsburg, a junior at Blue Mountain High School, participated in a four-day "Spirit of America Youth Leadership Program" on the Freedoms Foundation campus at Valley Forge from Feb. 21 through 24.

Sixty-five high school students from eight states participated in the program.

The program provides 11th- and 12th-grade students with the opportunity to engage with experts who lead interactive discussions and activities that focus on the development of leadership, citizenship and community service skills.

Sponsored by the Navy League, Jacob is a member of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. He is also a member of the high school Quiz Bowl team and the Leo, international, ski and debate clubs. Jacob is also involved with wrestling and track and field.

He is a son of Jake and Diane Throne, Orwigsburg.
