Haven seniors
The Schuylkill Haven Senior Citizens held their bi-monthly meeting at the senior center, 340 Haven St., Schuylkill Haven, with 62 members present.
Get-well wishes were sent to members and/or their families. Karen Sweigert read two readings. "Goodie bags" were won by Pat Naus, Mary Ann Evitts and Marilyn Reedy.
Travel Chairwoman Cindy Schoener announced upcoming trips that the club will take: July 17, Ehrhardt's Dinner Theatre, Hawley; Oct. 14-18, Cape Cod; Dec. 4-6, holiday trip to Williamsburg, Va., and Dec. 17, Hershey Hotel and Holiday Tour. Call Cindy for complete details at 570-366-1111.
Calendars with upcoming community events were available for members, with June 11, the senior picnic at Island Park, highlighted. Tickets are on sale for the club's spring dinner at St. Paul's UCC, Summer Hill. A current paid membership is required to attend the dinner.
Following the business meeting, members were entertained by Sandy, Andy and Friends - a great fun program.
The next meeting will be April 22, and the program "Little Hurricanes" will be presented at 7 p.m. prior to the business meeting so the children can get home early.
