AUBURN - Schuylkill County Crime Stoppers and state police at Schuylkill Haven are asking for the public's help in finding those responsible for stealing sections of bleachers at Auburn Memorial Park sometime over the winter months.
Police said the theft occurred between Nov. 1, 2012, and Feb. 1 at the Little League portion of the park at 521 Pearson St.
Police said someone removed 17 18-foot aluminum bleacher planks and fled the area undetected.
The bleacher planks were donated to the park about 20 or 25 years ago by then Alcoa in Schuylkill Haven and are heavy, making them difficult to carry.
Schuylkill County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information on the identity of those responsible for this theft or on any unsolved crime in Schuylkill County.
Callers are asked to refer to incident 04-14-13 when calling with information about theft of the bleacher planks from the Auburn park.
