Man charged with retail theft

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Martin T. Henry Pree, 19, of Washington, D.C., has retail theft charges pending following an incident at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Redner's Warehouse Markets, 191 N. Manheim Road.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said that Pree stole a box of Glade Plug-ins scented oil air fresheners valued at $4.79.

Store employees witnessed him placing them in this pocket and exiting the store, police said.

Retail theft charges are pending on the incident, police said.

Gallon valued at $1,000 stolen

AUBURN - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft that occurred between 1:05 and 1:20 p.m. Friday at OMNOVA Solutions, 95 Hickory Drive, West Brunswick Township.

Police said someone arrived on scene in a blue Dodge pick-up truck then removed an empty 300 gallon plastic tank, which was white with a black cap on it, from the west side of a part on the property.

The truck was followed by a green car, possibly a Chevrolet Cavalier, and both left the parking lot traveling on Hickory Drive, police said.

The plastic tank was valued at about $1,000, police said.

Tractor-trailer damaged by rocks

DEER LAKE - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating an act of criminal mischief that occurred at 7:35 p.m. Friday on Route 61, south of Coal Mountain Road in West Brunswick Township.

Police said the incident occurred as a 2011 Freightliner Cascadia was traveling south on Route 61 when it was struck by two rocks that damaged both the truck cab and the Great Dane trailer that it was pulling.

The tractor-trailer, owned by National Freight Inc., sustained scratches to the fiberglass on the passenger side of the cab and a small dent on the passenger side of the trailer, police said.

The rocks were thrown from the southbound side of Route 61, south of Coal Mountain Road, estimating damages valued at $300, police said.

The suspects fled the scene, police said.
