SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Penn State University police charged a Philadelphia man and a Chicago woman with harassment following an incident that occurred Saturday, police said Monday.

Summary charges against Antionette A. Hubbard, 1228 W. 78th St., Chicago, Ill, and Khadijah S. Straughter-Trice, 2633 N. 33rd St., Philadelphia, will be filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Orwigsburg, police said.

The incident occurred at Nittany III Apartments at 2:10 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Man charged for

scattering garbage

SHENANDOAH - Shenandoah police filed charges of scattering rubbish against a 44-year-old Frackville man after an incident near the Dollar General at the Gold Star Plaza between 4 and 5 p.m. Thursday.

Police said that Sean O'Donnell, 144 N. Railroad St., drove a 1989 Ford pickup truck to a side area west of the plaza parking lot and dumped trash.

Police said O'Donnell will have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah.

3 escape injury

in 2-car collision

MAHANOY CITY - Three people escaped injury when two vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of Interstate 81, near mile marker 131.6 in Mahanoy Township at 3:20 a.m. Sunday.

State police at Frackville said Michael Bartenope, 41, of Hazleton, was driving a 2013 Subaru Cross Trek south in the right lane when he tried to move into the left lane, as Arthur Jones, 26, of Endicott, N.Y., was in the left lane.

Police said no contact was made between the vehicles but Jones lost control, causing him to spin, go into a grass median and down a ditch.

Both drivers and a passenger in the Bartenope vehicle, Myla Bellard, 45, of Hazleton, all escaped injury, police said, adding that Bartenope will receive a citation for driving on roadways not laned for traffic.

HEGINS - State police at Frackville said a 35-year-old Carlisle man escaped injury when the 2007 Freightliner he was driving crashed in the southbound lanes of Interstate 81, at mile marker 111 in Foster Township, at 8:55 a.m. Friday.

Police said Charles Andres was driving south in the left lane when he tried to steer into the right lane while crossing a bridge and lost control.

The truck went off the east berm of the road, where Andreas was unable to regain control, police said.

The vehicle then went down and then up a grass embankment, where it began to jack knife and came to a stop just before entering the northbound lanes of the interstate, police said.

Police said the tractor and trailer were towed from the scene and that Andres will be charged with driving at an unsafe speed as a result of the crash.
