MOUNT CARMEL - The annual fundraising concert featuring the Mahoney Brothers is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Carmel Area High School Auditorium.

Organized by Joe Cesari, Kulpmont, the concert, with a theme of "Jukebox Heroes Live," will benefit the MCA senior class in paying for graduation expenses. Doors for the show open at 5:30 p.m.

A pasta dinner including salad, drinks and dessert will be held before the show from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria, sponsored by the MCA band boosters. Tickets for the dinner are available at the door or by calling Lorri Price, booster president, at 570-339-4832.

The Mahoney Brothers have been a hit with previous performances at Mount Carmel, which benefited the building of the playground at the Terry-Miriello field in Kulpmont.

Currently the band is on tour, playing its concert of 1950s and '60s music, which it recently performed in Helsinki, Finland.

Building on 10 years as one of the premier Beatles tribute acts in the world, the Mahoney Brothers decided to expand their musical impersonation act to include many of their favorite early rock 'n' roll influences.

The result of that is "Jukebox Heroes Live," what the band calls the "World's Greatest Music Impersonation Show."

The Mahoney Brothers pay tribute to such artists as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, The Beach Boys, Rick Nelson, The Everly Brothers, Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson and The Bee Gees.

The Mahoney Brothers recently updated the production with a three-video screen multimedia presentation, that, teamed with the brothers' impersonations, transports the audience through more than half a century of music in 90 minutes.

Tickets are $20 and available from any Mount Carmel Area senior; Subway restaurants in Frackville and Coal Township Wal-Mart SuperCenter; Academy Sports, Mount Carmel or at the door.

For more information, call Cesari at 570-373-3561.
