Mahanoy Middle
Mark Lawrence and Angel Ramos were chosen as students of the month for March by the faculty of Mahanoy Area Middle School. The program is sponsored by Mahanoy City Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 695.
Mark is a son of Mark and Denise Lawrence, Mahanoy City, and a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Mahanoy City, where he is an acolyte. A distinguished honor student, Mark is involved in chorus, National Junior Honor Society, ski club, student council, theater arts, track and field, seventh- and eighth-grade wrestling and Teener League baseball.
He served as a seventh-grade class officer and is seventh- and eighth-grade football captain. He volunteers his time decorating for Christmas at his church and at the Mahanoy Area Youth Wrestling Tournament.
Mark plans to enlist in the military or pursue a career in law enforcement.
Angel is a son of Miguel and Janet Ramos, Mahanoy City. An honor student, he is involved in National Junior Honor Society, seventh- and eighth-grade basketball, intramural basketball and Little League baseball.
He volunteers his time with Special Olympics and Biddy Basketball.
Angel plans to attend college in the future.
