Man, teen
charged in thefts
Charges were filed against a Frackville man and an Ashland boy after they allegedly stole merchandise from two stores in the Fairlane Village mall Saturday, police said.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Joseph Link, 18, and a 17-year-old boy took items from Kohl's and Boscov's department stores, totaling $424 and $280, respectively. All items were returned.
Police said the two walked into the stores and took clothing. One was stopped by Kohl's Loss Prevention staff and the other fled in a blue Jeep Liberty, police said.
Police said one of the accused who remained went back into the store with the loss prevention staff member and waited for state police to arrive while state police at Frackville found the other accused through a traffic stop.
Charges were filed through the office of Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, police said.
