n Frackville: Noreen O'Boyle of the Frackville Rotary Club announced that the club has moved its Cinderella's Closet from its former location in the Sears wing of the Schuylkill Mall to a storefront adjacent to GNC Nutrition Center. O'Boyle thanked the Rotary members and volunteers who helped move more than 1,000 gowns, glass cases and racks to the new location. The next Cinderella's Closet will be conducted Feb. 26 at the new Schuylkill Mall site. Cinderella's Closet provides gently used, affordable clothes and accessories to enable girls to attend school formals and proms.

n Frackville: The Frackville Ministerium Food Bank will be open from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday to serve eligible families in the borough. New applicants will need proof of eligibility - a Frackville borough address. The food bank is at Zion Lutheran Church, Oak and Nice streets.

n Jim Thorpe: An American Red Cross Bloodmobile is set for 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Hall. People 17 and older, weighing at least 110 pounds and are in good general health are urged to donate blood.

n Mar Lin: The Schuylkill County Interagency Coordinating Council's monthly meeting is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29, 17 Maple Ave. The purpose of the ICC is to promote a community-based collaboration that includes parents, professionals and providers of early intervention services, plus others interested in the health and welfare of children with developmental delays and/or physical or mental handicapping conditions and their families. n Pine Grove: The Ruth M. Steinert Memorial SPCA will open a thrift store on March 2 at 1144 Route 61 South, next to Auto Liquidators on the south side of the highway just south of the Centre Street jughandle. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. In a press release, Steinert officials said the store will mainly be a women's boutique and they are soliciting donations of women's clothing, accessories and jewelry - even broken and pieces - for crafts. Donations of general flea market items are still welcome and will be sold at the Steinert yard sales. Anyone wishing to donate should call 570-345-3540. The Ruth M. Steinert Memorial SPCA is at 18 Wertz Drive, Pine Grove, and is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and noon to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. n Schuylkill Haven: Midday Music, a free lunchtime music series held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Hidden Stream Cafe on Penn State Schuylkill campus, is under way. Jason LaVassuer will appear Feb. 23, Levi Stephens will perform on March 15 and Matt Bellis on March 28. Jared Mahone entertained Jan. 12 and Joanna Burns performed Jan. 25. The campus' Spring 2012 Nittany Neighbor Cultural Event Series at 7 p.m. in the Morgan Auditorium on campus also is under way with Nelly's Echo to perform Feb. 21, Invisible Children slated for March 14 and artist Josh Lehrer-Becoming Visible on stage March 15. Rudy Francisco performed Jan. 19 followed by The Wong People Jan. 24. The events are free and open to the public. n Tamaqua: The Tamaqua Area Senior Citizens welcomed two new members - Bob and Janet Haffarty - at a recent meeting in the Tamaqua Community Center. Eighty-two members attended the session. Vice President Nancy Gerber conducted the business session and Rose Vallee's invocation was titled, "This Day Is Just Too Perfect." Secretary Joan Anne Garber also gave her report. December and January birthday celebrants were honored with cake and ice cream. The group meets in the center, which is accessible to the handicapped, at 1 p.m. every Thursday. People 55 or older are welcome to join.
