Police: Man steals

lottery tickets

PORT CARBON - Borough police said Monday that they charged a Port Carbon man in connection with an April 1 incident at a convenience store.

Police said Cody L. Adams, 22, was charged with theft by deception and retail theft for the incident at Turkey Hill Minit Mart.

Police allege Adams stole five $20 Pennsylvania instant lottery tickets about 4 a.m. and returned to the store three days later, turned in two stolen "winning tickets" and received an additional $45 from the business.

Adams will receive a summons and will have to appear before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, police said.

Woman charged

in theft of boots

A Pottsville woman was charged with retail theft by state police at Schuylkill Haven after an incident at Super Shoes store at Fairlane Village mall in Norwegian Township that occurred between 6:35 and 6:40 p.m. Friday.

Police said Katlyn Miller was seen by store personnel placing a pair of women's boots into a bag and leaving the store without paying for them.

The charges against Miller were filed with Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, police said.

taking deli meats

SHENANDOAH - Shenandoah police charged a borough man with retail theft after an incident at Redner's Warehouse Markets in the Goldstar Plaza that occurred about 7:50 p.m. April 22.

Police said Eddie Adams, 34, of 504 W. Coal St., will have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker.

Police said Adams was detained by store security after he was seen stealing deli meats valued at $14.86.

Police allege man

stole nail trimmer

SHENANDOAH - A Mahanoy City man was charged with retail theft by Shenandoah police after an incident at Redner's Warehouse Markets in the Goldstar Plaza that occurred about 12:30 p.m. April 23.

Police said store security detained Joseph Minnich, 40, of 331 W. South St., after he was seen removing a nail trimmer from a shelf, going to the self-checkout aisle and scanning other items but not the trimmer.

Minnich left the store and was met by security personnel, police said, adding that the charges against Minnich were filed with Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker.

Warrant issued

in Rush Twp.

HOMETOWN - Rush Township police have an arrest warrant for a Mifflinville man after an incident at Wal-Mart that occurred about 11:40 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said Patrick R. Ellison II, 29, entered the store and took two Acer laptop computers valued at $1,396 and fled.

Police charged the man with felony retail theft and receiving stolen property and lesser offenses of criminal trespass, driving with a suspended license and a stop sign violation. The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua, police said.
