Criminal Court, Feb. 15

In recent Schuylkill County Court action, Judge John E. Domalakes accepted guilty pleas from, and imposed the indicated sentences on, these defendants:

Raymond G. Hower, 22, of Mahanoy City; possession of drug paraphernalia; 12 months probation and $100 payment to the Substance Abuse Education Fund. Prosecutors dropped charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Gloria M. Karpovich, 50, address not known; driving under the influence, driving under suspension-DUI related and careless driving; 90 to 180 days in prison, $2,025 in fines, $300 SAEF payment and $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street. Prosecutors dropped charges of disregarding traffic lane and disorderly conduct.

Kevin M. Kleinz, 58, of Shenandoah; two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; 12 months probation and $200 in SAEF payments. Prosecutors dropped a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Richard L. Lehr Jr., 24, of New Ringgold; DUI and driving under suspension-DUI related; 150 days to five years and three months in prison, $2,000 in fines, $300 SAEF payment and $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street. Prosecutors dropped charges of receiving stolen property, operating vehicle without required financial responsibility and failure to obey traffic control devices.

Dante I. McCoy, 23, of Pottsville; two counts of criminal mischief; 18 months probation, $100 in payments to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and $2,654.27 restitution. Prosecutors dropped a charge of disorderly conduct.

Alfred Sebastian, 31, of Freeland; DUI and disregarding traffic lane; six months in the intermediate punishment program, $1,025 in fines, $300 SAEF payment and $246 restitution. Prosecutors dropped charges of reckless driving and failure to notify police of accident or damage to vehicle.

In other county court action, President Judge William E. Baldwin accepted guilty pleas from, and imposed the indicated sentences on, these defendants:

Shirley A. Bakley, 53, of Pottsville; disorderly conduct; 12 months probation and a $50 payment to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account. Prosecutors dropped a charge of public drunkenness.

Robert J. Barlow, 48, of Girardville; possession of a controlled substance; six to 23 months in prison, $50 CJEA payment and $113 restitution to the state police crime laboratory in Bethlehem. Prosecutors dropped a charge of adulterated or misbranded controlled substance.

Edward C. Bealer Jr., 21, of Pottsville; delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; 10 to 23 months in prison, $300 in fines, $100 payment to the Substance Abuse Education Fund, $176 restitution to the state police crime laboratory in Bethlehem and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities.

Shannon M. Cody, 33, of Pottsville; driving under the influence, stop sign violation and improper signal; 48 hours to six months in prison, $550 in fines, $100 SAEF payment, $50 CJEA payment and $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street. Prosecutors dropped charges of careless driving and driving without a license.

Barbara A. Dugan, 30, of Shenandoah; possession of drug paraphernalia; 21 days to 12 months in prison and $100 SAEF payment. Prosecutors dropped charges of possession of prohibited offensive weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

Richard A. Harner, 25, of Pottsville; theft and receiving stolen property; four days to 23 months in prison, $50 CJEA payment, $250 restitution and $100 bench warrant fee.

Bruce Hein, 30, of Minersville; endangering the welfare of children; 23 months probation and $50 CJEA payment. Prosecutors dropped five additional counts of endangering the welfare of children.

All defendants who were sentenced must pay court costs as a part of their sentences.
